(EC 2.6.1.57) in Phenylalanine, Tyrosine, and Leucine Biosynthesis

Many of the proteins in the subsytems of Tyrosine, Leucine, Phenylalanine biosynthesis that have been assigned to perform the role of Aromatic-amino-acid aminotransferase (EC 2.6.1.57) could be given the joint functional assignment of:

"Aspartate aminotransferase ; Tyrosine aminotransferase ; Aromatic-aminotransferase (EC 2.6.1.57) "

to reflect that the protein has broad substrate specificity and that the annotator is uncertain of whether the protein performs one or more of these specific functions.

To express this uncertainty the " ; " syntax is used in the functional assignment.
